House Parties

seem to always prove themselves as the best parties.
The ones that stay most prominent in my memory are a variety in Washington DC and Milo's 18th Jamaican themed birthday. Since then I have found my favourite kind of party severely lacking,
until saturday night that is.
Maria and Andy threw a join-21st-birthday-house-warming-party in Kingston.
I arrived at 7 to 'help out' but ended up just being frozen in her room and eating food from the chippy. At 9:30 we cracked on, the house was carpeted in cardboard (with phallic duck-tape aesthetics) and the girls in her room were drinking bottles of wine through straws.
By 5am there were still about a hundred people, broken glass everywhere, karaoke had been going full blast since 12, we had smashed Maria' door down and there were people in every room either having sex or being sick, or maybe both.
I ended up going home with two friends who lived near by and sleeping in a studio, being woken up at 8 by their mother who was going to Istanbul.
Milo and LANDON joined us for an incredible fry up at 12, followed far too quickly by a trampolining session in the sunshine.
sleeping in my pjs on the tube with Milo at 3 and sporadically laughing at memories from the night before.
Milo is now also 21 and we threw him a lovely dinner-party at Mango Room in Camden, with a speech from almost everyone.
It was a great weekend.

Livin' Proof

After a long week of working, and partying, and working hungover, I finally had a weekend of rest.
The saturday of which I decided to spend celebrating two birthdays at a night called Livin'Proof at a place called Camp.
Essentially a hip-hop night in a basement- never a wise idea.
Within an hour the place was packed and with no ventilation this led to serious sweating from everyone. When raving in a sauna got too much, which was every hour or so, we would have to run outside for air. The temperature change was about 50 degrees but highly welcomed, and people were lying on the concrete trying to get as cold as possible (tights were see strewn and abandoned at the entrance). Then we would run back down for more and half way down the stairs be met by a wall of steam and my glasses would steam up so much I was virtually blind for the first few minutes. With friends from four different friendship circles congregating under the united love of hip hop I was happy. Very happy. So happy in fact I danced like a maniac till 3am when the inevitable finally happened

I got a heart attack.

Overall a very good night, not such a great day afterwards though..
